Munkebjerg

The beech forest in Munkebjerg is the first in Denmark to foliate. Hotel Munkebjerg has been around since the late 1800’s. The narrow winding road, that leads to the hotel from the coast, through den beautiful hilly beech forest, is popular among runners and cyclists.

From Hotel Munkebjerg’s terrace there’s a beautiful view of Vejle Fjord over the beech canopy. Here there is a possibility of building a vantage platform west of the hotel, that will lift the audience up and towards the canopy, and offer a view of the inlet and the city of Vejle. The plan is to improve the paths between the parking lot and the platform to optimize accessibility.
